RUGBY, October 7. Alan Hess, in an attempt on the onehour record for sports cars at Brooklands, established, in a Lagonda Rapide, fully equipped, with a passenger, a new record of 104.44 miles per hour. The record previously was 102 miles per hour. In close on 30 laps not once did the time variation exceed three-fifths of a second.
