ANGLO-AMERICAN TRADE "AGREEMENT WOULD BENEFIT WORLD" UNITED STATES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE STATEMENT Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright WASHINGTON, October 5. The United States Chamber of Commerce issued a statement declaring that world trade generally would be greatly benefited by a British-Ameri-can trade agreement, which, however, should contain modification of the British- preferential system. “No longer is the belief general in Britain, as in 1932, that the Ottawa agreements which served a temporary period in an emergency, can be advantageously retained as the basis of future trade relations between the Empire and the rest of the world,” says the statement.
