SUNDAY SERVICES

At First, Church the services will htf conducted by the Rev. W. Allen Stevely. His subject in the morning will be ‘ A Grain of Wheat,’ and in the evening ‘Tha Bank of Epve.’ At the evening serviea the music will include the contralto' solo, ‘The Shepherd Boy Sings in the Valley of Humiliation,’ and the anthem, ‘ Come All Ye Faithful.’ Dr Galway will be tha organist. The Rev. D. C. Herron, M.A., will con* duct both services in, Knox Church. Hi* evening service will bo ‘ Christianity and Money.’ ‘ All One in Christ ’ will be the subject in St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church at ■the morning service. There will be a parade of Oddfellows at the evening service, when the subject will be ‘ Honour All Men, Love the Brotherhood.’ At both| services the preacher will be the Rev* 1 Thomas Miller. The evening service at the Maori Hill Presbyterian Church will be conducted by the Rev. George Miller, formerly ,of North-east Valley. The Rev. A, C. W„ Standage will preach in the morning, tha subject being ‘ The Unconquerable Christ.’' The Rev. C. H. Olds will conduct both' services at Trinity Methodist Church.* Hif morning subject will be ‘ Life _on God’s Plan.’ Miss Sara Couper will sing ‘ Keep , Thou My Heart.’ In the evening Mr Old* will continue tha series of addresses on ‘ Faith,’ his subject being ‘ God and the Problem of Suffering.’ Miss Hazel Walker will be the soloist, and the choir will sing ' Rock of Ages.’ Cargill Road Methodist Church service* will be conducted by. Densem. solo, ‘ The Old Ragged Cross/ Miss Merle Gilden; anthem, choir and community singing at 6.15; all welcome. «> At the St. Kilda Methodist Church b'otK services will be taken by the Rev. T, Skuse. The Rev. J. Ewen Simplon will conduct the services at the Hanover Street Baptist Church, speaking in the morning on * The Messages of Christ’s Silent Years,’ and in the evening on ‘Do We Believe in Hell?’• In the evening the choir will present tha anthem, ‘ Sun cf My Soul ’ and the hymnstudy, ‘Nearer, Still Nearer.’ Miss Editty Ritchie will sing a solo. The services of the North-east Valley Baptist Church will be conducted by Rev* James K. Reid. In the morning he wilf speak on ‘Faith or Fate.’ In the evening. ‘Daniel’s Image.’ This address will b» timely and prophetic. Closing services in connection with tha special mission services conducted by tha Rev. J. T. Crozier in the Caversham Baptist Church will be held morning and even, ing. Tha evening subject will be ‘ Thomas—tha Honest Critic,’ and the choir will sing tha ■ anthem, ‘ Groat Is the Lord.’ To-morrow services at the United Con. gregational Church will be conducted by the Rev. C. G. Hedley Bycroft. ‘ Hearty , Service ’ will be the morning topic, and in the evening ‘ Christ’s Programme: Is It of Value To-day B’ Mr Ernest Paris will sing during the evening service. At the Salvation Army the City. Corps Songster Brigade, under the baton of Leader Bro. Wm. Baylis, will *' choral anthem and praise service, at 11 a.'m. 3 p.m., 7 p.m. Evening subject, ‘ The Man With a Low Aim,’ the sneaker will be Mr* Adjutant V. J. At the Theosophical Society Mr Jj M'Ewan will commence a series of lecture* dealing with the work'of the inner govern/ ment of the world. The first lecture i 4 . entitled ‘ Manu, the Builder.’ At the Spiritualist Church, at 6.30, Mr D. L. Cumberbeach will give an inspirational address, after which there will be a demon, stration of sniritual clairvoyance by a lady medium. The Healing Centre meets a* usual on Monday at 8 o’clock.
