MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE

(Received August C, at 1 p.m.) George Frederick Foster, of Manchester, was charged in the Bolton court with manslaughter of the ertpketer M'Donakl. . ~ Tho prosecution said M Donald was thrown 10ft to 15ft into the air when struck by Foster’s car, which passed under him. Foster said ho did not seo M Donald. Without calling evidence for the defence, the magistrate dismissed the charge of manslaughter, deciding that there was not a prima facie case for committal. Ho also decided that the alternative charges of dangerous driving and driving without duo earo and attention and without reasonable consideration had not been proved. All the summonses were dismissed. [F. A. M’Donald, tho well-known (•rideeter, was killed in a motor accident. Tho car he was driving collided with another vehicle near Bolton. M'Donald got out of the car after swerving into a field and returned to tho road, where he was knocked down and fatally injured by a third car.]
