MITCHELL’S INJURY MAY NOT PLAY AGAINST OTAGO [Per United' Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, July 20. ' It is possible that N. A. Mitchell, the Southland captain, will not take the field for Southland in the Ranfurly Shield match at Dunedin on Saturday. Mitchell pulled a muscle in his right leg during one of the trial games at Wellington, and, although nothing of a serious nature developed, the injury has not made the progress expected. At present he is undergoing special massage treatment and Has been ordered to rest for a week or two. CANTERBURY TOURING TEAM The following is the Canterbury team for the northern tour, which comprises matches against Wanganui next Saturday, Wairarapa on August 4, and Taranaki on August 7: — Backs: G.
