TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I notice that the Otago Power Boat Club is to receive £lO as a donation towards the expense of challenging for the Masport Cup. To some people this might seem quite a large sum, but how does it compare with the amount incurred to challenge for the Sanders Cup. Surely there must be quite a largo expense connected with the competition for the Sanders Cup. Perhaps you could enlighten me on this point, and ■ also as to who pays for the Sanders Cup challenge. Some time ago a member of the,, association was reported to have said that the cost of challenging for the Masport Cup next year would be nearly £IOO, and if this is true I am afraid that the recent donation of £lO will not go very far.— I am, etc., Interested.
