BOWLING

ROSLYN CLUB At the annual meeting last night of the Roslyn Bowling Club, Mr G. T. Dennis was in the chair, and there was a large attendance of members. Before commencing the business of the meeting, a. presentation of a past president’s badge was made to Messrs J. Robertson and W. R. Don. The annual report and balance-sheet, which showed the club to be in n good financial' position, were adopted. A notice of motion covering an alteration to the rules was submitted and confirmed by members. This embodied provision for first-year players becoming members at a subscription of £2 2s. The full member’s subscription was raised ,to £3 10s. The rule admitting honorary members was repealed, but a clause to permit honorary non-playing members joining as such at a fee of £1 Is was substituted. The outgoing president (Mr G. T. Dennis) was then presented with a past president’s badge. The following club ties were decided on .•-—Championship singles, handicap singles, champion doubles, handicap doubles, junior cup, all to be played on the one-life system except championship singles, which will be played on the two-life system. It was agreed that the club enter teams for the interclub Saturday matches, the Wednesday competition, the four-rink contest, and the Adess Shield. It was further decided that teams selected to play in Saturday tnatches should indulge in practice games on Thursday nights. A vote of thanks to Mr S. H. Wood for his services to the club was carried by acclamation, with votes also to tbo retiring officers, the ladies, the Press, and Mr Moir for his work as amenities supervisor. The election of office-bearers resulted: —President, Mr W. N. Thomson; vicepresidents—Messrs E. Mullenger, A. J. Allen; secretary, Mr W. J. M’Kay; treasurer, Mr J. N. Matheson ;■ committee—Messrs J. Bews, J. J. Boyd, F. Buttle, M. Marriage, C. E. Tyrrell; freen supervisors—Messrs Mullenger, latheson. and M‘Kay; delegates to Dunedin Bowling Centro—Messrs W. D. Richards, W. J. M’Kay, D. O’Connell; Billiards Committee —Messrs C. E. Tyrrell, W, A. Mackay, G. Phillips, G. T. Dennis; auditor, Mr J. M’Narey; Ties Committee, Messrs G. F. Sharpe and F. Farley; selectors —Messrs C. Anderson, W. R. Dow, W. J. M’Kay; Wednesday selectors, Messrs J. Moir and H. Gardiner; coaches—Messrs W. J. M’Kay, C. E Tyrrell, W. D. Richards, D. Campbell, and A. Armstrong; Amenities Committee, Messrs J. Moir and J. N. Matheson.
