MAINLY FAIR—KOLATID tWWENS The following weather forecast wA« issued at noon by the Meteorologies! Office. Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers. Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orcpuki, Bluff, Halfmoon-Bsy : Pressure is still rather low-in the far north, but has risen further over most of the Dominion. An intense anticyclone extends from Australia across the Tasman Sea and the South Island. Forecast: Light to moderate southeasterly winds. Weather mainly fair, but some isolated showers on the southern and eastern coasts. Cold temperatures with sharp frosts, Sea* moderate, SOME IMPROVEMENT. Though intermittent. showers of rain fell in Dunedin both yesterday afternoon and evening, the fall had ceased early this morning. Temperatures were mild in comparison with those over the last few days, while there had been little wind up to noon, when barometric pressure was rising at. 30.25 in. A heavy cloudbank overhung_ the north and western portions of the city. Sbme sunshine had appeared by noon, who' a fine afternoon seemed likely.
