Mr D. B. Mackersey left this morning for Wellington. Mr J. Bews, Dunedin manager of tho National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand Ltd., left by train Jo-day on his way to Wellington, where he will attend a meeting of the New Zealand Woolbrokers’ Association. The Rev. G. T. B. Steele returned to Duntroon to-day. Dr W. D. Brown, who has accepted the position of medical superintendent of the Dunstan Hospital, arrived from Stratford last evening. He will remain, in Dunedin for a few days before proceeding to Clyde. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Adam Hamilton, M.P.) arrived in Dunedin to-day from Invercargill, and tonight will address a meeting of mem- - hers of committees and supporters of the National Party. He will also give a broadcast talk from 4YA on the subject of children’s health camps. He will return to-morrow to Invercargill, where a rally of committees of the party in the four Southland electorates will be held. On Thursday Mr Hamilton will return to Dunedin and will address a meeting of business men. The president (Mr C. L. Calvert) t the vice-president (Mr N. R. Wilson), and the secretary (Mr O. L. Ferens)! have been appointed to represent the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association at tho annual Dominion conference of the N.Z.R.S.A. to be held in Wellington next month. . Lady Kingsford Smith is a through passenger by the Monterey to join her parents in New York. “ I know I shall have a wonderful time with my friends,” she said, “ but at present I am sad at having to leave my baby in Australia. She had a wonderful record with the North Otago Club, being champion from 1911 to 1933. She won the Wanganui championship in 1921 and was once runner-up for the Dominion title.
