Three, (thousand striking technical' workers, including hairdressers, painters, and draftsmen affiliated to the American Federation of Labour, picketed the major cinema studios. The Screen Actors’ Guild, with a membership of 3,000, and of which Robert Montgomery is president, will decide at a mass meeting to-night whether to join the strike. The pickets did not attempt to prevent actors.from penetrating the closed shop. Clark Gable, William Powell, Jean Harlow, and Greta Garbo were among those who were unable to obtain breakfast, due to the chefs striking. Marlene Dietrich applied her own makeup. The studios are concerned, as 50 pietures, a record number, are in production.
