MR R. A. LAIDLAW'S MEETINGS

The Concert Chamber of the Town Hall was crowded on Saturday night, when Mr R. A. Laidlaw, of Auckland, gave an address, illustrated by 1,600 ft of moving pictures, on the subject of ‘ Palestine.’ The speaker bad taken the pictures himself, and was able to give an. interesting description of many habits, customs, places, and peoples of the land of the Old Testament. ' Following the line of his Saturday night lecture,. Mr Laidlaw turned from the land to the people in his address on Sunday afternoon, and delivered an address on ‘ The Miracle of the Jew in! History apd Prophecy.’ Present-day, events in Palestine assumed a new significance' as the speaiker brought the Bible ap3 the newspaper side by side to reveal the fulfilment of prophecy. That the prophetic clock Was _ nearing the midnight hour seemed evident as Mr Laidlaw brought to light fact after fact of momentous importance. From another angle Mr Laidlaw gripped a large audience in the Town Half itself during an after-church rally in the evening, when challenging facts were given of signs in the political and economic world of the approach of tho consummation of this age and the return of Christ for His .redeemed Church. Vast wealth, unemployment, the mad rush for armaments, and many other factors were demonstrated as being prophesied in Scripture as signs of these last days. , The campaign will continue in the Town Hall Concert Chamber each evening this week, with the exception of to-night. -• .
