Bodkin, M.P., addressing a large, meeting at Pahiatua to-night. He cntw cised the present Government’s legislation, which, he said,- had been responsible for an increase in the cost or living, and he also criticised its mean* of combating this tendency. The - meeting was presided over by the mayor (Mr J. I). Lawson). At the conclusion of his address Mr Bodkin was accorded a vote of thanks.’ The meeting also recorded its opposition to the present Socialistic Government, and expressed confidence in the National Party. This motion was carried by an overwhelming majority.,
