KAIKORAI VALLEY ROAD.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Regarding the allocations \of the £IOO,OOO loan, I have not noticed where any allotment has been made for the Kaikorai district. I think it is about, time that the- council woke up to the fact that the ratepayers and residents of this district are not to be-side-stepped any longer. Through the council s present methods, such as the deplorable tram service and the filthy, dusty state of the lower Valley road, it is preventing any progress whatsoever of Kaikorai. 1 wonder if the accident that occurred on Saturday evening, due no doubt to the dusty state of the road, which is only 23ft wide from kerb to kerb, will wake the council up so that something is done at once. The watercart put in an appearance recently, but what good did it do? We poor residents down near the Roslyn Mill did not see it. From Taieri road to tho Rattray street carline is as far as it went. Wo are expecting big things from our council shortly, namely, a tar-sealed road. Might a sufferer from this road enquire of the City Council what its intentions are regarding it;* as polling day is draw-ing-near?—l am, etc., Dusty. [ln the allocations Kaikorai is included under the heading of Roslyn.]
