His Honour Mr Justice Kennedy left to-day for Christchurch. Messrs H. -Harris and Douglas M. Spedding left to-day for Wellington to attend the annual meeting of the New, Zealand Rugby Union. Messrs R. 1Meredith and L. R. Lopdell passed through from Invercargill on their way to Wellington to represent the bournland Union at the same meeting. Mr E. Clark travelled to Christchurch by to-day’s express. Mr and Mrs A. E. Adam left by, the express to-day en route to Toronto where they intend spending a nine months’ holiday. „„„„ Mr F. J. Williams was a passenger by the express to-day, being bound for Wellington to attend the annual meeting of the A. A. ‘ Motor World. Mr T J. Bovce (Invercargill) »aa a passenger by the through express today on his way to Wellington. _ Mr J T. Hill, assistant-district tourist manager at Auckland, ieit today on his return north after spending his annual leave in Dunedin Mr J. Dundas (Invercargill) travelled by the through express to-day to Christchurch. Mr D. M Dougall, M.P., came through by the express to-day on his wav to Wellington. . Colonel A. E. Loach, secretary of the Associated Kindred Savages and Orphans’ Clubs of New Zealand, left this morning on his return to Christchurch. Congratulations to Mr J. L. Tennet upon his appointment as quantity surveyor for New Zealand under tno Government’s housing scheme were extented at a smoke concert given in nis honour by the Wellington Local Bodies Officers’ Guild on Friday night. Mr Tennet, who is a qualified architect, has been attached to the _ engineering staff of the Wellington City Corporation for the past 12 yearn. . He was born in Dunedin, and served his articles with Mr E. W. Walden. . After continuous active association with shipping in Wellington for nearly 45 years, Mr Fred Prince, assistant to the marine superintendent of the Shaw,’ Sarill and Albion Company Ltd., will retire on superannuation at the end of this month. ‘ , The Otago and Southland Presbyterian Synod to-day_ conveyed warm greetings to its senior member/ the Rev. A. Greig, who will enter his hundredth year in August. Mr L. J. Wild, headmaster of the Feilding Agricultural High School, who left by the Aorangi from Auckland today for Canada and Great Britain to study education in agriculture and art under a Carnegie Trust grant was entertained at a series of farewells in the Feilding district last week.
