(Received April 20, at 11 a.m.) De Hooch’s ‘ Dutch Courtyard,’ 18iin by 16Jin, fetched £17,500 at the sale of the Rothschild pictures at Sotheby’s. [Peter De Hooch (1632-81) was a Dutch painter. His composition and drawing are masterly, and his colour cool and brilliantly luxurious. There are fine examples of his art in the National Gallery, London, and the Bijks Museum, Amsterdam. 3
