WEATHER FORECAST
CLOUDY TO OVERCAST The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the south* ern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui. Winton, Invercargill, Riverton. Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:— The situation is very complex, pressure being low from South-eastern Australia across the South Tasman Sea to Southern New Zealand, and also to the north-west of the Dominion, while relatively high to the east. Forecast: Moderate to strong northerly to northwesterly winds prevailing. Weather cloudy to overcast, with scattered rain. Temperatures moderate. Seas slight to moderate. FINE AND WARM. Bright sunshine, accompanied by warm temperatures and an absence of wind, made conditions very pleasant this morning in Dunedin. The respective maximum and minimum temperatures from 9 o’clock until noon at the Gardens were 66.8 deg and 57deg, while the registrations over a 24-hour period yesterday were 60-odeg and 44.Sdeg. There was neither frost nor rain last evening. Barometric pressure at noon to-day wag falling at 29.5 in, and indications were for a fine and warm after' noon.
