COLUMBA COLLEGE GOVERNORS
The monthly meeting of the Columba College Board of Governors was held at the college on Thursday evening last. Those present were: Dr W. H. Borrie (president), Lady Sidey, Mrs Donald Reid, .Miss P. White, Miss C. M. Ashworth, Rev. J. J. Cairney, Rev. A. C. W. Standage, Messrs P. S. Anderson, S. P. Cameron, J. M. Fraser, and James Hogg. Miss Nancy Ainge was appointed to succeed Miss Joan M'Leod as home science mistress at the commencement of the second term, and Miss Lois Blank, of Christchurch, was appointed to succeed Miss Jean Brewer as sports mistress. The principal reported that owing to the increase in the number of boarders assistance was required for the matron, and recommended that Miss Joy Barron be appointed. The board agreed to the recommendation. The President reported that arrangements bad been made for a series of addresses to be given on ‘ Church History ’ by Professor Hunter, Professor Collie, Dr Dickie, and Dr Merrington,
