FANATICAL PROPAGANDA
THE TROUBLE IN WAZIRISTAN ; ■ FAKIR OF IPI’S ACTIVITIES (British Official Wireless.) Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, April 19. ‘ (Received April 20, at noon.) The recent fighting in South Waziristan was the subject of a House of Commons answer by the Under-Secre-tary for India, who said that the recrudescence and extension of the trouble in Waziristan was due to the increasing scale of fanatical and antiBritish propaganda of the Fakir of Ipi. It was at first confined to the younger and irresponsible elements in the tribes, which appeared to be out of control by the responsible tribal leaders. Every effort was being made to restore order by means of political pressure, assisted by air action.
