LANCASHIRE AND YORKSHIRE ASSOCIATION
The members of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Association held their monthly social in Unity Chambers, Stuart street, on Saturday. The president, Mr W. Longworth, extended a welcome to the members of kindred societies before proceeding with the evening’s programme. The following provided the programme:—Elocutionary item, Mr Allan Hay, ‘ And So -Was I ’ and * A Little Bit of ’; songs, Miss Irene Brooks, ‘ Oh, Promise Me ’ and ‘ The Birth of Morn ’; songs, Mr W. Watson, ‘That Old Scotch Mother of Mine ’ and ‘ When the Sun Goes Down’; songs, Mr Neil. M'Quarrie, ‘ Lighterman Tom ’ and ‘ Friend of Mine ’; songs, Mrs M'Quarrie, ‘ When You Come Home ’ and ‘ X Dream of You ’; Messrs W. Watson, N. M'Quarrie, and Mrs M'Quarrie effectively rendered as a trio ‘ The Song That Reached My Hearty and a duet was given by Messrs W. Watson and N. M'Quarrie, ‘ Gendarmes.’ After supper the, members took part in familiar ball room- dances under the control of Mr Moorehead as M.C. tThe ■ programme ■ was brought to a close by the members joining hands and singing that old Yorkshire melody, ‘ On Ilkey Moore Baht ’At.’
