EX-IMPERIAL SERVICEMEN.
TO THE SDITOE. Sir,—On behalf of the executive of the imperial Ex-servicemen’s Association (N.Z.) Inc., I wish to state, that the - letter appearing m to-night s ‘Star’ under the heading Ex-lm-perial Servicemen,’ and over the signature of “Orpah Jones-Njelson (president British Immigrants’ Club, Dunedin),” was written without the knowledge of my association. Mrs JonesNieison is not correct in saying that .my association “ will get into communication with the Pensions Department for benefits where needed.” neither has she at any time been authorised to use the name of the assoeieation. . . It is. our- fixed policy to notify the secretary of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association. of any case that may comb to our nptice of Imperial exservicemen requiring assistance or benefits, and I can assure Mrs JonesNielson and Imperial ex-servicemen in general that the welfare of our less fortunate comrades is regarded by Mr Ferens as of equal importance to that of the “ am, etc., W. R. Watts, Hon. Secretary. April 17.
