INFANTILE PARALYSIS
NORTHERN INCIDENCE [Pee United Press Association.] OAMAEU, April 19. The boy of eight years taken to the hospital bn Friday has been diagnosed as a positive case of infantile paralysis. A suspect case, a boy of 12, was admitted last night. WAIPUKURAU, April 19. A case of infantile paralysis reported here, a girl of seven, admitted to the hospital on Thursday was diagnosed yesterday as positive. A boy of 10, from, the Ongaonga district, was admitted yesterday as a suspect. . Waipukurau District High School closed to-day. ELEVEN CASES IN HOSPITAL [Per United Press Association.] - HAMILTON, April 19. Two further cases, making a total of 11, were admitted to the hospital during the week-end. A girl, aged four, from Pukeroro, near Cambridge, is paralysed in both legs. The other, » boy, aged four, from Te Poi, near Matamata, is also a positive case. SEVENTEEN GASES [Per United Press Association.] PALMERSTON N., April 19. Following the closing of the schools,the head masters of the primary schools met and arranged for the publication of lessons in the local newspapers on. the lines already adopted by the Wellington schools. . ' There, are now 17 cases, including two suspects, in the local hospital, four being from the city. DEATH OF BUTT VICTIM WELLINGTON, April 19. The death occurred to-day from infantile paralysis of a boy aged 14 from Lower Hutt, who was admitted to W ellington Hospital on Saturday. This is the first fatal ease in Wellington since the outbreak started. No other cases or suspected cases were admitted during the week-end.
