NAVAL TEAM IN ACTION TRAMWAYS WIN LIVELY GAME The Tramways Club played an Association football match against H.M.A.S. Australia at the Oval on Saturday. The teams were as follow: H.M.A.S. Australia.—Dorsch, Prior, White, Walton, Madge (captain), Stirling, Parr, Martin, Hamon, Chapman, Vagg. Tramways.—Todd, Keach, Braithwaite, Wilson (captain), Wilson, Thomson, Fraser, Paterson, Keach, Walmsley. Although the wet state of the ground was thft means of spoiling some fine movements, good play was produced by both sides. Tramways dominated at times and played with great dash. The Australians seemed to lack combination, which lost them many chances. Tramways won by 5 goals to 3, goals being scored for Tramways by Walmsley (2), Keach (1), Fraser (1), Wilson (1), and for Australia by Dorsch (1), White (1), and Hamon (1). The game was played under the new rules and was controlled by Mr W. P. Smith. Both teams were entertained by the Tramway Club at a social evening.
