NORTH OTAGO SEASON COMMENCES The first of the season “ friendly ” games were played at the Show Grounds on Saturday before a fair attendance of enthusiasts. Taken all through, the form shown was encouraging for a successful season in North' Otago. Star (Timaru) accounted for Excelsior by 25 points to 3, and Athletic defeated Palmerston 16-3. Old Boys journeyed to Timaru and were beaten by Timaru Old Boys by 25 points to 5, while Duntroon defeated Maheno at Duntroon by 8 points to 6.
CHRISTCHURCH COMPETITION OPENS [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH. April 11. The Canterbury Rugby Union’s senior competition opened this afternoon. Results:— Sunnyside 9, Old Boys 6.
