MOUNT COOK ATTRACTIONS

PROVISION FOR CHILDREN The management of the Mount Cook and Southern Lakes Tourist Company Ltd. has made provision this year for parents to take their children to the Hermitage for a week at a charge that should appeal to everyone. In past years the company has given many opportunities for school children to visit the Hermitage, and this season the offer is more attractive than ever. For any one week in the May holidays the charge will be £6 2s 6d, and this covers almost seven days at the resort, a trip to the Ball Hut, and many other excursions. Two extensions of this offer have been made, the first comprehending the secondary schools’ ski championships and the other a week’s visit to Queenstown. In the former offer the charge of £6 2s 6d includes transport from Timaru to the Ball Hut and the hire of all necessary equipment. These championships are conducted by a committee of teachers, who are present throughout the three weeks of the meeting. The Queenstown offer, made at the .request of parents, includes almost seven days at the side of the lake for the same charge as is made for the other trips.
