SUGAR CONFERENCE
STATISTICAL EXPERTS' REPORT (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, April 7. The bureau of the International Sugar Conference heard a report from Dr Sachs, of Poland, on the work done by the committee of statistical experts at its first meeting. The experts recommend that the needs of a free market—that is, needs which are not met by home production or by the production of colonies enjoying preferential treatment—may be reckoned at a total of 3,170,000 metric tons for the crop year 1936-37. The bureau agreed to submit this figure for approval by the conference.
