CITY TRAMS
INCREASED REVENUE REPORTED The Tramways Committee reports that the manager’s statement of the traffic returns for the past fortnightly period show an increase in receipts for the period, as compared with the corresponding period oil last year, of £9/b. As Easter is included in the period under review this year, while last year is was early in April, the comparison shows a decided drop in tram revenue for Good Friday and Easter Saturday, but an increase in bus revenue. The, observation bus trips have been exceedingly well patronised this year, and this has contributed to the increase.*'; The new scale of fares has now been in operation for eight weeks, during which time the revenue has increased by £3,424. This figure would have been higher but for the early Easter this year. . " The total increase in revenue for the period of 52 weeks (April I,‘ 1936. to March 27. 3937) is £7,651, or 4.84 per cent., as compared with the corresponds ing period of last year.
