ST. CLAIR SCHOOL
The first meeting of the St. Clair School Committee - for the year was attended by Messrs Love (in the chair), N. D. Anderson, Bond, Grindley, Perry, Rhodes, Robson, and Warwick. The resignation of the head master (Mr H. L. Wilson) was received with regret. Appreciation of his work for the school during the year of his term as head master was expressed, and it was stated that Mr C. B. Taylor would act as head master until a successor was appointed. Mrs Wilson (fourth assistant) notified the committee that she would he retiring at the end of the present term. Mr M. F. Peake attended the committee, and explained a scheme he had drawn up for the teaching and appreciation of music and the formation of a choir. Authority was given to expend up to £lO on records and sheet .music go that a start could be made. During the vacation the infant department had been completely renovated. The card parties held last year resulted’ in the sum of £l4 18s, 9d being raised. The picnic showed a charge of £lO 16s lid to He iriet out of the school funds.
