(Received February 20, at 12.30 p.m.) Travelling as Mr Smith, Herr von Ribbentrop was the guest of Lady Derby, with Humber and Lancashire business men, at Manchester. Herr von Ribbentrop emphasised that his visit was private, but Lord Derby, Mayor of Manchester, led an informal discussion after dinner on trade between Germany and the north of England, as the result of which, special sub-committees of the cotton and wool trades are meeting to consider improvement.
