ANOTHER WIN FOR LOUIS
BROWN KNOCKED OUT BOUT ENDS IN FOURTH ROUND Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright KANSAS CITY, February 18. Louis knocked out Natie Brown in the fourth round of a scheduled 10round bout. There was a wild finish, similar to that in a wrestling; bout, with the referee also knocked down, while the crowd of 14,000 roared. Louis methodically sent rights and lefts to Brown’s face in the first 40 seconds of the fourth round, until a hard right dropped Brown.to a sitting position. Attempting to raise himself to his feet, Brown clutched the referee’s leg and pulled the official down to the floor too. The referee arose and awarded the fight to Louis on a technical knockout, but the official timekeeper Informed him that he had completed the count while the referee was down, so the decision was changed and Louis was credited with a knockout. * In the first round Louis left his corner and slowly circled round. A light left from Brown glanced Louis’s chin and the men clinched. Then Louis led with two lefts hut did no damage'. Brown crossed with a right to the head and exchanged left jabs. Then Louis hooked a hard left to the body and Brown a right to the 'ear. In the second round Brown came out fast, and carried the fight to Louis. There was a brief flurry,of punches and Louis backed Brown to the ropes, but he fought clear. Louis began to connect with short lefts and rights to the chin. , In the third round Louis stalked Brown but was unable to land an effective blow'. They exchanged body blows at close quarters and Louis again connected with hard lefts and rights to the face as Brown came in. Brown landed a solid right to the body. _ In the fourth round the men met in the centre of the ring. Louis connected with hard rights and lefts to Brown’s face, which was becoming puffy. Brown went to the. ropes and Louis landed a terrific right, ending’the fight. Meamvhile the promoter. Joe Fotey, announced from Chicago that arrangements have been completed for a LouisBraddock title bout at Comiskey Park instead of Soldiers’ Field, on June 22, due to the 25 per cent, demands of the latter. Louis and Braddock are scheduled to appear during the day for the formal contract-signing ceremony.
