FORBURY PARK CLUB A meeting of the committee of thd Forbury Park Trotting Club was held last night and was attended by Messrs B. S. Irwin, president (in the chair), James Black, T. Fogg, W. J. L. Cough* lan, D. C. Jolly, H. Halliday, C. R. Hadfield, H. Archbold, James Mitchell, and J. M. Samson. Mr J. Trengrove, who has left on a trip to the Old Country, was granted 10 months’ leave of absence. The stipendary steward (Mr F. Beer) submitted a report on the recent race meeting of the club. He stated that at the conclusion of the Waverley Handicap an objection ’ was lodged against the third position ‘ being awarded to Parish Chimes, driven by R. Donald, on the grounds of breaking and interfering with the fourth horse. Prince Harvester, driven by R. W. Franks. A charge was also preferred against Donald for causing the interference. The committee agreed that the placings should be reversed, but after discussing Rule 303, under which the objection was lodged, it was decided that unless it could be proved that Donald contributed to the interference no action could be taken The chairman said that the rough! balance sheet for the summer meeting showed the cluh had niade a satisfactory profit. It was decided that the stake money: for the winter meeting be £3,500. The amount given for the winter .meeting last year was £3,000. Accounts amounting to £350; were passed for payment. It was decided that the caretaker of the park be instructed to look, into the question of improving the track,, and that steps be taken to secure material for placing on it. .
