GRAVE CHARGES
HERBALIST REMANDED FOR SENTENCE [Pee United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, February 11. In the Supremo Court, before Mr Justice Northcroft, Joseph Isherwood, a herbalist, faced three charges of indecent assault on males. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial occupied the greater part of the day. The Crown Prosecutor (Mr A. T. Donnelly) described the case as one of the worst ever before the court. The jury retired for an hour and lOmin, and found the prisoner guilty on all three charges. He was remanded for sentence. Henry Percy Rentoul Ramsbottom Tsherwdod pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16 years, and was remanded for sentence.
