CAVERSHAM CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Approval of the scheme to take part of the children’s playground at Caversham as a bowling green by the parties interested is only natural, but will the chairman of the Reserves Committee inform your readers on what authority public reserves are leased to private clubs? Who is paying for the lay-out of this green, the parties interested or the council ? The statement that the portion of the ground to be leased is of no use as a playground is rather curious if it is suitable for a bowling green.—l am, etc., John Citizen. February 12.
