MODIFICATIONS ANNOUNCED RESULT IF LATE START [Pn Umitid Fbxm Assocu.tiow.l WELLINGTON, February 12. It is officially announced that it has been decided to modify somewhat the dates of the school terms for this year owing to their not opening till March. The first term for primary and postprimary schools will end on _ May 12 (Coronation Day), _ the vacation commencing the following day. The primary schools are to resume on May 31, and the post-primary schools on June 1. The second term ends on August 20, resuming on September 6 and 7 respectively. On account of the curtailment of the school year the Director of Education anticipates that there will be no objection to a shortening of the third term vacation for the post-primary schools and to these remaining open till December 17.
