DRENCHING RAIN [Pan United Press Association.! AUCKLAND, January 29. Anniversary Day was spoilt by drenching rain, _ which commenced in the early morning and fell continuously. The tennis championships, cricket matches, and the final of the Auckland bowling championship were postponed. The Takapuna Jockey Club’s “ Summer ” Meeting is being held at Ellerslie, and the anniversary regatta is proceeding on a windswept harbour. Already several competing yachts have capsized, but there have keen no serious accidents.
