The Country team, regarded as the strongest for several years, unexpectedly collapsed in the annual match with Town to-day preliminary to the selection of the. Wellington team for the Plunket Shield. The Country team, drawn from the Manawatu, Wairarapa, Wanganui, Taranaki, and Hawke’s Bay area, which is was recently suggested should be constituted a fifth Plunket Shield district, made only 156 (Moloney 49, Gallichau 49). Blundell took four wickets for 41 and Tricklebank four for 63. . Town made 166 for four wickets (Tmdill not out 66, Ward 47, M'Leod 33).
