MINIATURE MENAGERIE
MONKEYS, BIRDS, AND FREAK HORSE ASSORTED CONSIGNMENT FROM ENGLAND [Per United Press Association.! WELLINGTON, December IG. A menagerie in miniature arrived by the Rangitane from London to-night, five monkeys being consigned to a, woman in Christchurch, 64 birds of numerous species to an Auckland birdlover, and a freak horse to Wellington, The animals made the trip under the care of the ship’s butchers, and all arrived in a very healthy condition. The pony’s parents were normal racehorses, and both were in active racing in England when their offspring left its home. The animal is 35|in long, 24in high, and weighs about 381 b. It is two years and three months old, and is considered to have reached its full size.
