LANCASHIRE AND YORKSHIRE ASSOCIATION
The memberis of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Association held their monthly social ou Saturday, Mr A. Ellis (the president) presiding. The Chairman extended a welcome to Mr Bell, president of the St. Andrew's Scottish Society. Musical items were rendered by the following:— Mrs Waltoa, songs, ‘ 1 Wonder if Love is a Drehm 1 and * Smiling Through ’; Mr J, Henderson, xylophone solos, ‘ When 1 Grow Too Old to Dream, 1 * The Invercargill March,’ and ‘ Red Sails in tlie Sunset.’ Miss Nella M'Cartncy gave the following elocutionary items; — 4 The Brilliant Speech ’ and * The Serial Story ’: Miss Ellen M’Lluchlan, Highland dance ; Mr Wisemta, songs, ‘ Out in the Cold, Cold Show ’ and 4 My Little Bottom Drkwer ’; Messrs A. Ellis, W. Crossley, W. Hargreaves, F. Swift, and W. Loneworth rendered most effectively * Johny Schmoker.’ Mr and Mrs Pettitt played a pianoforte duet, * L’ltahana in Ageri/ The Monte Carlo was won by Mr Childs and partner. The social was in every way a success, community singing and dancing forming part of the evening’s programme.
