WELLINGTON’S STORMY WEEK-END SOME FLOODING REPORTED [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 6. Wellington experienced a particularly boisterous week-end. The city was swept yesterday by a northeasterly gale and heavy, driving dain. The storm reached a climax shortly after noon. Reports from all parts of the city indicate damage by flooding. It is not great, but many small slips have' occurred. The Hutt River rose dangerously, following heavy rain in the back country. One hundred points of rain were recorded at Kelburn between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The wind reached a velocity of 62 miles an hour, and ita average was 40 to 50 miles an hour.HIGH NORTHERLY LOWEST BAROMETER RECORDED . .. , —; ' [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 6. The weather at Wellington to-day was fine, but a high, northerly wind continues. One gust of a velocity of 70 miles per hour was recorded at 7.45 a.m. The barometer reading at AwarUa at 5.30 a.m. to-day was 28.32 in, the lowest reading ever recorded in the Dominion, the previous lowest being 28.47 in at Bluff on December 6. 1911.
