DANZIG DIFFICULTIES
REPORT OF COMMISSIONER ATTACK ON NON-NAZI MEETING Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, July 3. The report of Mr Sean Lester, the League’s commissioner in Danzig, read before the Council, described a series of incidents from the end of June, including an attack on a nonNazi meeting, after which 50 people were treated in hospitals. The report referred to Nazi clashes with their opponents in the streets, the German newspaper attacks against him, and the failure of the officers of the German cruiser Leipzig to pay the customary courtesy call. The Geneva correspondent of ‘ The Times ’ understands that the Council considers that Poland,-,as the country responsible for Danzig’s foreign policy, should take up the incidents with Germany. Saturday’s meeting will approve this course.
