JUNIOR ORCHESTRA
FIRST CONCERT OF SEASON The first concert of the fourth season of the Dunedin Junior Orchestra will take place in the Town Hall Concert Chamber next Tuesday, when an attractive programme of orchestral music will be presented by young players under the conductorship of Mr C. It. Spackraan. Included in the programme are several pieces that have been presented to the orchestra by admirers, in particular the 1 Clock and the Dresden Figures,’ by Ketelby, which was presented by Mr Hopkins, and Rubinstein’s ‘ Reve Angelique,’ presented by M. de Rose. Gurlitt’s tuneful overture, 1 The Marionettes,’ the ‘ Blue Danube Waltz,’ the waltz from ‘ Coppelia Ballet ’ music by Delibes, Boccherini’s ‘ Minuet ’ for strings, ‘ Tannhauser ’ march, and other numbers make up the programme, which should prove equally ns enjoyable as previous programmes by the orchestra. The soloist on this occasion will be Air Colin Oliver, who is becoming one of Dunedin’s leading singers. The price of admission is Is, plus Cd booking fee,'and the box plans ire at Bcgg’s.
