20.000 HOMELESS AFTER CYCLONE
Twenty thousand people in Burma, mainly resident in the Kyaukpyu and Akyab districts, were rendered homeless as a result of receiving the full force of the recent cyclone. Thirty-six deaths occurred in Cheduha. The cyclone, Which broke on April 26, smashed all means of communication with ’ Rangoon and 1 Mandalay, and it was not until some days later, when air mail reports reached Rangoon, that' soma idea of the extent of the damage was known.
