RISING PRICES
GOVERNMENT PREPARED TO ACT WON'T HAVE MEASURES STULTIFIED ' [Per United Press Association.! . WELLINGTON, July 3. When his attention was drawn to the statements concerning the rising prices of commodities attributed to the Government’s recent legislation, the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. M. J. Savage) said that information was coming to him from many quarters on this question. “ It seems to me,” said Mr Savage, “ from advices already to hand, that the sooner someone linds himself before the Magistrate’s Court the better it will be, because then all will know where they are. The Government is determined that the benefits we set out to give the people are received by the people. We are not going to. have our efforts destroyed by those who are not prepared to play the game. 1 believe that most of the manufacturers and business men are anxious to help, and will do the right thing, but the position is made more difficult by some people who are prepared to sacrifice, everybody in order to get some advantage for themselves. That is the reason why the whole question is under consideration at the present time by myself and the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Sullivan).
