SUNDAY SERVICES
At First Church the Rev. W. Allen Stovely’s subjects will be, in the morning • Consecrating,’ and in the evening ‘ Popular Fallacies: No. 2, That Reason Contradicts Faith.' The evening anthem will bo * The Day Thou Gavest ’ (Woodward). Dr Galway will be at the organ. The Rev. D. C. Herron will conduct both services in Knox Church. The subject for the evening will be ‘ This Lost World.* The Rev. Thomas Miller will be the preacher in St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, the subject at the morning service being ‘ The Romance of Money,’ and ‘ The Secret Things and the Things Revealed ’ will be the subject in the evening. ‘ The Oxford Group and World Revolution ’ will be the subject at Trinity Methodist Church to-morrow evening, the Rev. C. H. Olds being the preacher. The anthem will be ‘ There is no Sorrow, Lord.* The Rev, I. S. Williamson will conduct the morning service. The services at the, Methodist Central Mission will be conducted by the Rev. Leslie B. Neale, and in the evening the Eev. B. M. Tasker' will conduct the service. The soloists at the evening service will be Miss Jean M’Gregor and Miss Ivy The Rev. T, R. B. Woolloxall is the preacher at the Dundas Street Methodist Church at both services. His subjects: Morning ‘ Christ’s Creative Power,’ evening ‘ Value of the Commonplace.’ Mr I. Douglas will render ‘ The Holy City,’ and the choir will present the anthem ‘Grieve Not the Holy Spirit.’ Features of the Oxford Group Movement will be the theme for the sermons by the Rev. T. Skuse at the St. Kilda Methodist Church.
The Rev. J. Ewen Simpson will conduct both services at the Hanover Street Baptist Church. In the morning his subject will be * The Work of the Ministry,’ and the service will be followed by the celebration of the Communion. In the evening he will speak on ‘ The Love of God.’ The anthem will be ‘ Sun of My Soul,’ the solo parts of which will be sung by Miss Edith Ritchie. The title of Mr Reuben A. Webb’s trance address at the Spiritualist Church is ‘ Behold this Spiritualism!’ Mr Webb, who is the holder of the coveted “ Honoris ” diploma for 30 years’ service in the Spiritualist National Union (S.N.U.), will give clairvoyant messages after the address. The Study Circle and Lyceum will meet at 2.30, and the Healing Centro at 8 on Monday. All the meetings are held in the Radiant Hall, St. Andrew street. The Rev. W. M. Isitt, of Hendon, London, will conduct both services of Divine worship at Moray Place Congregational Church. The morning anthem will be ‘ O Lord, Bow Down ’ (Himmel), and the choir will sing in. the evening ‘ Bread of the World’ (Thompson). The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be observed af'.er hte evening service. The services at the United Congregational Church will be conducted by the Rev. C. Hedley Bycroft. In the morning his subject will bo ‘ A Cry for Three Blessings,’ and at 6.30 p.m. the topic will be ‘ What is God Like: Can We Know?’ The services at the Salvation Army, Dowling street, will be conducted by Major Adams, from Port Chalmers, who is changing over for the, day with Adjutant Mahaffie, who will conduct the services at Port Chalmers. The major is an officer with a rich experience, and preaches the simple Gospel message with power. All are welcome to attend these services. At the Greater World Christian Spiritual Mission Mrs Brooks will take for her subject ‘ Christian Spiritualism,’ and will explain the Christ in Spiritualism, after which Spiritual messages and after circle will follow. At the Theosonhical Society there will bo an address by Miss A. Inglis entitled ’ The Torch-bearers.'
