Maintenance of the traditional AngloJapanese friendship was the watchword given to Mr Shigeru Yoshida, the newly-appointed Ambassador, before leaving for England, ending certain misunderstandings. Mr Yoshida, says tho newspaper ‘ Asahi Shimbun,’ will have conversations with tho British authorities centring on the “ non-existence of Japan’s territorial ambition.”
