• WHY GO TO PARIS ' «Why Go to Paris ’ was produced for the last time by the Hart-O’Bnau Vaudeville Company on Saturday night to a packed house. Both the afternoon and evening performances maintained the high entertainment value set by the previous shows. As usual, most of the funmaking was m the capable hands of Mr Frank O’Brian, and he was well supported bv Alec Kellaway. Mane Doran, and Alma Aldous. Miss Janice Hart’s singing numbers were again popular, and the specialty numbers of Desiree and Montigue, the Orlandas and the Velescas, Dave James, and Vic Sanderson all won instant approval, the spectacular scenes and costumes contributed toward the success of the show, and the work of the ballet and orchestra was also of great assistance. ‘LUCKY STARS.’ The company will commence its final week this evening. A special production, ‘Lucky Stars,’ will be presented for this farewell gala week, and it gives promise of setting a new biglx standard of entertainment. The company has a foundation which has enabled it worthily to live up to its reputation as the best vaudeville company to have visited New Zealand for many a season. Janice Hart* the dashing brunette, and the irresistibly comic Frank O’Brian, have been accorded a wonderful reception during their previous shows, *nd the new items they have in store for ‘ Lucky Stars ’ should advance them _ still further in public favour. Highlights of the new bill include the famous * Can Can ’ dance from the Bal Tabarin, ‘ The Cushion in Blue,’ featuring Cecil Scott and the famous Casino Girls, Desiree and Montigue in ‘The Bolero,’ a rhythmic fantasy, and « The Mirage,’ by Alexander Kellaway with the Riviera mannekins. A musical and comedy sketch entitled ‘ Night on the Embankment,’ ‘ Spanish Revelry ’ with the Toreador Ballet, ‘ The Film Factorv,’ introducing some wonderful lighting effects, gorgeous flocking, and delightful dancing, will also be appearing. The winners of the children’s vaudeville trials are the Stewart Trio. There will be a farewell children’s matinee on Saturday afternoon ant 1 the final performance of the Dunedin season will be given on Saturday night.
