ACTION-FILLED DRAMA
GOOD RAILROAD FILM FOR GRAND •Vs the danger-defying young railroader who whispered by preference, but who could shout when he wanted to George O’Brien returns to the screen in an action-filled story, Whispering Smith Speaks,’ whicn opens at the Grand on Wednesday. The plot of the story revolves about the love that arises between George O’Bnen, working as a railroad man, and Irene Ware, who manages a dilapidated old railway. She has no way of knowing that he is really the son of the president of the o-reat transcontinental railroad system, and tries to hold back from falling in love with him. The climax of the picture shows how the young adventurer turns a whole railroad system upside down and races a switch engine desperately for hundreds of miles when his o-ix'l is in danger. Kenneth Thomson, •vie Potel, and Spencer Charters fill the most important featured roles of V\ Inspiring Smith Speaks,’ which was directed by David Howard. The story was adapted from Frank H. Spearman s novel. Also on the programme is ‘ Your Uncle Dudley.’ a bright comedy dealing with small town life.
