'GREAT IMPERSONATION’
MYSTERY FILM FOR GRAND ‘The Great Impersonation,’ a film from the novel by E. Phillips Oppenheim, which begins at the Grand tomorrow, uses a thrilling story about international spies t° attack munitions manufacturers who seek deliberately to make wars. Besides its exciting plot it has some thoughtful and interesting dialogue and some splendid photography. Edmund Lowe is the chief actor, and he plays a dual role. Opposite him are Valerie Hobson and 11 era kneels. The story begins in German East Africa in 1914, when Everard Dominey, nn English nobleman deserted by ms safari in a jungle, is rescued and taken to the headquarters of Leopold von Rawenstein, the manager of a mine owned by the chief of a large munitions manufacturing organisation. Von Kagenstein and Dominey hear a remarkable resemblance, and Von Ragenstem determines to take advantage ot tins bv impersonating Dommey in England and thus gaining information which would make him invaluable to his employer. He plans to have Dominey murdered in a desert, and when it is reported that the plot has been earned out he goes to London and then on to Dominey Hall to take the place in public and social life of Sir Everard Donnney. Of course, all kinds of embarrassing situations occur, but the blame is laid on Sir Everard’s long absence from his ancestral estate. He meets several difficulties, however, which require courage as well as ingenuity to pvercome. Also on the programme will be ‘ Hi Gaucho,’ a thrilling adventure film starring John Carroll and, Steffi Duna.
