UNEMPLOYMENT

PADDY'S MARKET AND CARNIVAL Bargains and amusements will be supplied to all who attend the South Dunedin Town Hall on Friday and Saturday, commencing at 2 o’clock each afternoon and also at 7 p.in. on May 30. Goods of all descriptions are for sale at cheap prices. Everything is new, and consists of clothes, crockery, fruit, vegetables, meat, groceries, cakes, sweets, biscuits, fancy goods, books, and fish. The carnival section consists of roll-downs, box-ball, darts, knock-’ems, housey housey, and a variety of games. A baking competition will be held for the ladies, a gardening competition for men and also a home-made sweets competition. Entries will close at noon on Friday, and will be judged at 2.30 by efficient judges. Admission is free, but all entries become the property of the committee after judging. There will be first and second class awards in each section, and first and second awards for the best variety. A fancy dress parade will be held for the children, and will tie judged by Big Brother Bill at 3 on Saturday. The funds are to be used to alleviate distress among the members of the South Dunedin Unemployed Association, and donations will be thankfully received at the hall at any time, INFORMATION WANTED Members of the following groups must obtain form U.B. 32A from the Employment Bureau and, after completion, return it personally by the date specified. Each man must produce his levy book with the completed form. Any man who fails to return the form by the specified date will be deleted from his group, and will not be re-started until he has been re-grouped by the Employment Bureau.
