A Wellington Association message states that the directors of Australian Glass have recommended a dividend of 4J per cent, on preference shares for the half-year ended March 31, and 5 per cent, on ordinary shares, plus a further 5 per cent, on ordinary shares, the latter being paid out of income on the company’s investments. EXTRAORDINARY PROGRESS. [Special to thk ‘ Star.’! AUCKLAND, May 28. _ Extraordinary progress is revealed in the latest accounts of the Farmers’ Trading Company. After provision for depreciation and other contingencies, a net profit (o n a turnover exceeding a million and a-half sterling) is £61,458, the best for 11 years, and £2O,(XX) higher than last year. Thp usual dividend is to be paid—s per ednt. on ordinary shares and 5 3-5 per cent, on preference shares.
