SPIRITUALIST CHURCH
Tlie attendance at the Spiritualist Church last night was a largo one, the occasion being the last appearance of Mrs Gladys Davies prior to her departure for Auckland and Fiji. Mr _R. N. llidd, who presided, stated that it was highly probable that Mrs Davies would be - paying Dunedin another visit in the course of a few months. In the meantime he expressed to her the thanks of the church for the work she had done. The trance address by “Pharos" through Mrs Davies was on the words “ let us go into the house of the Lord.” The control compared the form of worship practised in the ancient days of Egypt with that in vogue in. the Christian era, and pointed out that in every age man had recognised a Great Spirit, a Universal Creative Force, recognition coming under different names, but always being of an omnipotent. omnipresent, creative force. In all ages the word “ Lord had meant this force, this creative law. obedience to, or the entering into, which was the psychological moment of the illnminatioh of the soul. “ Pharos ” went on to say that Spiritualism had been stigmatised by the unenlightened as being dangerous, as being “ of the devil ” because the method by which proofs of continuity of life had in some cases been conveyed in the form of rappings, tableturning, and such-like. .As a matter, of fact, true Spiritualism was this samp entering into the Lord, the realisation of the spirit, which mankind had experienced all down the ages. Jesus had taught mankind how, through love, this condition could be achieved', and how man. having entered the house of the Lord, could do those things which He had done. And the time was rapidly coming when the world would be once again brought to the realisation of its heritage, when peoples and nations would be awakened by the recognition of the Christ spirit. Thus would man once more enter into the house of the Lord. At the conclusion of the address Airs Davies gave a number of auric readings and clairvoyant messages.
